Downtown Halifax Dental Restorations

Have you been told by a dental professional that you need dental restorations to repair or replace a broken, decayed or lost tooth? As dental restoration specialists we provide restoration services to patients by referral. With an on-site dental laboratory and a competent and highly skilled professional dental team we can restore your smile to its original natural beauty.

Crowns

If one of your teeth is broken or decayed, your dentist may refer you to our office for dental crowns. A crown is an artificial tooth that fits like a cap over your existing tooth to restore its look and function and to protect the remaining parts of your tooth against further damage.

Implant-supported crowns can also be used as a long term replacement for lost teeth.

Inlays

Sometimes when a tooth is badly damaged from injury or delay we want to restore it with a dental restoration that provides more support to the structure of the tooth than a traditional filling. In such cases we use inlays, which restorations are similar to fillings except they are designed and manufactured in our laboratory and then placed into your tooth. Inlays help strengthen your tooth and protect it against decay.

Onlays

An onlay is a special type of inlay that restores the biting surfaces of a tooth. They are made to be strong enough to withstand the pressures of normal chewing.

Bridges

We use a bridge to provide replacement teeth in cases where multiple teeth are missing in a row or when a single crown can’t be used to replace a missing tooth. A bridge is a restoration that consists of one or more artificial replacement teeth that are bonded to a “bridge” structure. The bridge can either be bonded to the existing teeth on either side of the gap left by the missing teeth, or it can be supported by dental implants placed in your jawbone.

The artificial teeth on your bridge are strong enough to restore your chewing ability and they can be shaded to match the natural colour of your existing teeth.
