Dr. Andrew Thompson
Orthodontist (Principal, Park Lane Dental Specialists)

Dr. Thompson was educated in England, received his BDS from the University of Dundee in Scotland and his DDS from Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry. He practiced general dentistry in Halifax for five years before continuing his studies at the University of Toronto where he obtained his Diploma in Orthodontics. Dr. Thompson currently practices Orthodontics (with an interest in TMD and Obstructive Sleep Apnea) on a specialty level out of his practice at Park Lane Dental Specialists as well as satellite offices in Bridgewater, Dartmouth and Clayton Park. He is a member of several professional associations and has held a position as an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Dentistry (from which he is now retired).

In particular, Dr. Thompson stresses the use of the most modern, time-reducing and esthetic orthodontic appliances and retainers, including lingual braces ( behind the teeth) and invisible orthodontics ( Invisalign). Dr. Thompson believes in professional standards in a “fun” environment – you can be serious and have an enjoyable time and he offers free consultations to his patients.


Lesley Bleil
Treatment Coordinator

Lesley worked with Dr. Thompson for several years starting in 1977 in his general practice. Once returning to practice following his specialty training, Dr. Thompson invited Lesley to work with him once again on Birmingham Street. She is currently our Treatment Coordinator and spends a large part of her day providing patients and their parents with the information they need about their treatment, fees, payment plans and insurance coverage.

She is a graduate of Sacred Heart School and holds a B.Comm from Dalhousie University. In her spare time she enjoys practical jokes on the ortho team and Dr. Thompson. Lesley always has a big smile and enjoys a good laugh.


Lynn Wilson
Registered Dental Hygienist

Lynn joined the ortho team a few years ago and continues to be very busy. She graduated from Dalhousie University School of Dental Hygiene and has a particular interest in the Invisalign system of orthodontics. She takes pride in her work and enjoys keeping the patients informed of their dental progress regarding orthodontics.




Mike Brygider
Dental Technician

Mike joined us in the lab and is kept busy working with Paula and Stuart. He’s dedicated to Dr. Roda and helps with pouring up impressions, fabrication of temporary partials, implant stents, bite planes, sport guards and bleaching trays. He assists with lab maintenance and is learning new procedures all the time. A benefit of working with other skilled technicians. We enjoy Mike’s quiet demeanor, while he steadily gets the work done and on time. His dad is Dr. Brygider, and his sister is Jacqueline, so he’s more than a part of our family.


Deborah Hutchinson
Registered Dental Hygienist

Deborah has recently joined our team and brings with her four years of experience working in orthodontics. She graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at Dalhousie University in 1985 and has been working in the field ever since. In her leisure time, Debbie enjoys biking, paddling and working out at the gym.


Deborah Sparkes
Registered Dental Assistant

Deborah has recently relocated from British Columbia to join our team as a dental assistant. Debbie quickly learned all the procedures and works efficiently in keeping things running smoothly. She graduated from dental assisting at Vancouver Community College and later studied Prosthodontics at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George, B.C.


Kim Tanner
Massage Therapist

Kim joined our practice recently . Kim is a graduate of Northumberland College’s Massage Therapy program and has also completed graduate studies in Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute in Florida. Her time at Park Lane Dental Specialists has been filled with experiences that have been very beneficial to Kim as a “hands-on” therapist, particularly as her interests as a health care practitioner lies in treating chronic pain and cranio-facial conditions.
